HUX RELEASE IN AUTUMN Work has finished on the remastering of a live CD by Auto Da Fe with Hux Records giving the release date as 8th October 2001 Gay has decided to call it Songs For Echo. Colin Harper has again written sleeve notes and Gay has selected the artwork- seen above in draft form for the first time. Previously she agreed to the proposed release by Hux Records of the two sessions the band did for the BBC in the early 1980's. Both were broadcast as part of the In Concert series providing an hour's music from which to select the best versions and recordings. She personally did this and came up with eleven tracks, some of which were never recorded by the band and others which include former Thin Lizzy maestro, the late Phil Lynott who played bass and shared vocals during one session. Phil produced much of the bands early work originally. The joining of his playing along with the groups regular bassist was one of the high spots for Gay who always insisted that Auto's best performances were live rather than studio. She is confident fans will find this reflected in the new release and enjoy the chance to hear new material that includes Phil - one of rocks true greats.
the tracks selected are -
Cellophane Rain Traitor November November Man of Mine Bad Experience The Merchant (two versions, one from each session) Somethings Gotten Hold of My Heart When the Curtain Goes Bang Auto Da Fe Girl Boy Difference He Is Just an Irish Catholic
